Target Audience
All interested healthcare professionals involved in ENT including but not limited to physicians, advanced practice providers, audiologists, SLPs, administrators, as well as residents, fellows, med students, and other healthcare related students.
Educational Objectives
By the end of the presentations, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the ENT and facial plastic surgery updates on new techniques, concepts and procedures.
- Describe newer surgical indications and techniques.
- Identify best practices and outcomes.
- Discuss improvement in patient experiences.
- Interpret ideas to improve management of the ENT and facial plastic surgical office.
- Discuss current regulations and mandates affecting patient practice.
- Understand a variety of practice management issues and quality.

Conference Speakers
Keynote Speaker – FSFPRS
Ira Papel, MD, FACS

Dr. Papel is a facial plastic surgeon in private practice and a Professor at the Johns Hopkins University. He is actively involved in surgical training of medical students, residents, and fellows. He serves as co-director of the Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Papel has been invited to serve as a Visiting Professor at more than 40 universities in the U.S., Europe, Asia, Mexico and South America. His textbook, Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, now in its 4th edition, has become a standard text for surgeons throughout the world.
Dr. Papel is a Past President of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and past President of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is currently a Director of the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
Dr. Papel has been recognized as a “Top Doctor” locally by Baltimore Magazine, and nationally be U.S. News and World Report.
Keynote Speaker – FSO-HNS
Robert Sataloff, MD, FACS

Dr. Sataloff is Professor and Chairman, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and Senior Associate Dean for Clinical Academic Specialties, Drexel University College of Medicine. He is also Adjunct Professor in the department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University, as well as Adjunct Clinical Professor at Temple University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine; and he is on the faculty of the Academy of Vocal Arts. He serves as Conductor of the Thomas Jefferson University Choir.
Dr. Sataloff is also a professional singer and singing teacher. He holds an undergraduate degree from Haverford College in Music Theory and Composition; graduated from Jefferson Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University; received a Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice Performance from Combs College of Music; and he completed Residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and a Fellowship in Otology, Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Sataloff is Chairman of the Boards of Directors of the Voice Foundation and of the American Institute for Voice and Ear Research. He also has served in numerous other leadership positions.
Dr. Sataloff is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Voice and Editor-in-Chief of Ear, Nose and Throat Journal, and on the editorial boards of numerous otolaryngology journals. He has written over 1,000 publications, including 62 books, and he has been awarded more than $5 million in research funding.
Keynote Speaker
David Kennedy, MD, FACS

Dr. Kennedy is one of the premier rhinologists in the world. He is known throughout the specialty as the driving force behind the introduction of minimally invasive sinus surgical techniques in the United States.
Dr. Kennedy received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons and completed his residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. He introduced minimally invasive sinus techniques at Johns Hopkins in 1984 and has been the pioneer in the evolution of these techniques ever since.
Dr. Kennedy has been the Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and continues to serve as a Professor in Rhinology at that institution. We are honored to have him as a Keynote speaker at this year’s FCOM meeting.
