INTERNSHIP CERTIFICATION PROGRAM FOR ADVANCED PRACTICE PROVIDERS
The NFO PA Internship shall provide both clinical and didactic training in five phases that will cover all core areas of expertise in the field of otolaryngology/head and neck surgery. The NFOPA Internship will be an unpaid ninety (90) day internship designed for current PA students, new PA graduates or a graduate PA wishing to work in otolaryngology/ head and neck surgery. Physician Assistants successfully completing the internship will receive a Certificate of Completion along with documentation of skills acquired and at least 28 Cat 1 CME

Q – Where is the program located?
A – The physical location for didactic lectures and workshops will be the corporate offices located at 1601 Clint Moore Road Suite 170, Boca Raton, FL 33487. Clinical sites will be located throughout South Florida.
Q – Does the program have any academic affiliations with any college or university?
A – The Program is independently sponsored by the Florida Network of Otolaryngologists and is not accredited to award any postgraduate degree.
CME is awarded by the Medical Educational Council of Pensacola (MECOP) and the Network of Florida Otolaryngologists (NFO). MECOP is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Q – How much does the internship pay?
A – NFO PA Internship will be an unpaid ninety (90) day internship designed for current PA students, new PA graduates or a graduate PA wishing to work in otolaryngology/ head and neck surgery. We are hoping to match interns with employers but make no guarantee.
Q – What are the admissions requirements?
A – We are looking for new graduates and/or experienced physician assistants already working in otorhinolaryngology that are well rounded, motivated clinicians to fill the workforce shortage in otolaryngology. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and be a great communicator.
Q – How do I apply?
A – Please submit the following to Dawn Villacci, CHC, Program Administrator, via website portal;
- Personal statement no longer than 500 words on why you should be considered for this internship.
- Transcripts (unofficial transcripts are acceptable) showing PA Program GPA.
- No more than three (3) letters of reference.
Any experienced PA already practicing in otorhinolaryngology/head & neck surgery and wishing to participate in Internship may apply for consideration under an “Alternate Pathway.” They will need to apply to the program in the same manner.
They will need to complete:
- Phase 1, Pre-Course live component
- Phase 2, On-line Modules
- Phase 3, Procedures Workshop with a comprehensive examination.
Phase 4, Clinical Component – will be waived when supervising physician verifies at least 2,000 hours of continuous otolaryngology experience.
